(Un)Bound

(Un)Bound (2021-2022) is series of high-chroma, gestural acrylic paintings of segmented forms suggesting an aerial view of fields or stained glass separated by thick contours, sometimes with orbs/eyes staring out amidst swirling abstraction. These paintings, created during the long tail of the pandemic (2021-2022), portray constrained agency, confinement, concern, and escape, understood as a duality, referencing both my own desire for “normal,” and the risk of COVID escaping my layers of protection.
