This series from my daily collage practice traces my participation in a research study investigating transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) as a treatment for Long COVID. TMS treatments deliver a series of pulses to a specific area of the brain, based on MRI scans. Some describe the sound and experience as a woodpecker, and this resonated for me. It was painful and exhausting. I believe it helped a bit, however. And I am glad to be able to contribute to science. As an experienced researcher, it is fascinating to be on the other side of the consent form.
