Intersect (2025) is a series of mixed media collages that present aerial views of curvilinear systems over fictionalized geographies. This series asks, ‘What would we see if the invisible dimensions of disability and chronic illness were made visible as traces through space and time?’ Blending urban topography, cartographic abstraction, querencia, and psychogeography, Intersect explores themes of invisibility, a concept central to my navigation of disability and cure. I rework my collage papers—liquid watercolors on wet paper, National Geographic images ‘ruined’ with Citrasolv. By cutting across patterns, I bring my attention to the moment, rather than the image itself, resulting in noisy, rushing arteries that seemingly dance above smeared, scraped, and pockmarked grounds.
