Augmentalia

Augmentalia (2026) is a series of acrylic paintings and mixed media works that explore the uneasy intimacy of bodies and devices. Drawing on cyborg theory, disability experience, and the visual language of hybrid organic machinery, these works imagine assistive forms as strange companions. The series critiques the ugliness and inadequacy of many accommodations, asking what it means to be augmented not by choice or futurist fantasy, but by necessity in a world that refuses to bend. Augmentalia also delves into the ways such devices invite unwelcome interrogation and contact, while buffering against physical harm.
